Discovering my sparkle

I feel like I’ve reached a milestone, just turned 30.  What am I going to do? I’m sure that I love my family, my friends and “Mi Negrito”. They make me happy and whole, but what really motivates me professionally? I’ve been reading and trying to focus on what really drives me. Don’t get me wrong… I love the company that I work for, my boss and co-workers but there’s always an itch on what more can I do.

Every time I think of this, the word “empowerment” pops up in my mind.  You know what I really love to do? Empower people, be a liaison, the connection to keep the ball rolling. I’m the busy bee, the speaker, THE PLANNER, the hostess. I feel passionate helping others to connect and helping them find what makes the unique. Help a business grow, enable processes, share experiences. How do you feel after helping a friend overcome a difficult situation?  How do you feel after completing a project you’ve been working a long time? How do you feel at the end of the year and knowing that you helped the company you work for achieve all the metrics? How good do you feel after watching a project brought into completion, a project you dedicated many hours and strength?

Think of it… personally or professionally… empowerment is something that comes from the heart.  Empowerment, for me, is being an enabler. I want to empower you to feel good, feel better, and be a better person each day. Everyday ask yourself: “What am I thankful for?” “What keeps me going?” “How can I help?” “How can I be a better me?”

BE YOU! BE UNIQUE!

XOXO,

Karina

AHHHH!! Empowerment, what a tricky word that is!! They should dedicate a Webster Dictionary just for that word! I am a firm believer that your sparkle has been discovered for a long long time… you see, usually we are the last ones to see it… it’s like a flashlight, everyone before you see the light except you (maybe because YOU are the light) but at the end of the day, it gives you guidance in the darkness. So what I see in this world is a bunch of flashlights walking around (yes I know that sounds crazy), everyone got their own and I am grateful to be around in a world full of them!

I am thankful for being around all this amazing people. My whole life I have been empowered by different circumstances. The way I see it is that we have two types of empowerment: voluntary and involuntary. Involuntary empowerment is SUCKS A** big time! Is the type where you have no other option than to look for the positive alternative around the worst situation. You are empowered to see the positive side because basically is do or die. Tricky thing about this one: it makes you stronger and you need it in your life!!! The Voluntary type of empowerment is so much more fun, is the type that you CHOOSE to do because it will make you grow, thrive and have fun along the way, YOU choose it!! Sounds amazing huh? Not so fast, it is scary as sh&**! It surfaces all the doubts that we can have about ourselves and how we could, voluntarily, F&^%$ our “dreams” up!

At the end of the day, I feel thankful that we live in a society in were we can even talk about empowerment and where we can lead our own destiny! How lucky are we? So, cheers to that and congratulations on this new project!!

Be you and freaking enjoy every single second of it!!

    Besos!

Indeed… “empowerment” may be the most used word of 2015-2016 😉 Thank you! Maybe it had to struck me like lightening in order for me to listen to it. Thank you for being my forever cheerleader.
